@christyluv012005 Well for basic tasks and a little bit of video editing even the MacBook Air is strong enough since they now have better processors.

I would either get the 13 inch MacBook Pro with the i5 processor or the MacBook Air 13 inch with the i5.

In the end it just depends on if you want/ need a dvd drive or if you rather want a thin and light laptop.

Both are really good machines.

@shurutugal Hey, that is a very good question.
The hp envy 14 was just updated with sandy bridge processors so it is up to the latest standards and at 999$ it is cheaper than a MacBook Pro.

If you do not need/ want the Mac OS then you will probably be better off with the hp.

If you want a Mac, the entry level 13 inch MacBook Pro is definitely a great machine but if you do not need the optical drive the 13 inch MacBook Air might be the better decision.

I was thinking of buying a Macbook Air 11 inch for university - I don't need it for anything special - just notes and web. Did you encounter any problems with this laptop? Thanks in advance
